T tops. Can I swap mechanisms from older to newer?

I have a set of the Lexan T tops on my Firebird. They are great in that they stay cool and are light, but as with all plexiglass it has developed a weird crackle like pattern in the glass.

I have a nice set of 1982 T tops kicking around and the size is the same. It appears that the only difference is in the latch mechanism. Without experimenting and failing on parts I still need, does anyone know if I can swap out the mechanisms from the Lexan to the older glass? Does everything line up, screw holes etc?
