well i just bought a project and its got a good amount of rust need your opinions... i get home in 11 days so i can find if there is any more rust

 

my idea on rust is that it is very bad.

ok now the bs aside. rust must be completely removed or it will come back. you have to sand down to bare metal and then some.

dont just cover the rust up - it will still be there and will still grow. its eating your car.

and look beyond the parts you see - sand down to bar metal all over the area. anyplace there is a hole with a rivit or bolt in it, or metal screw.

i sure do love living on the west coast - we may have smog ****'s but no rust.

 

yeah in jersey we have the same regualtions as cali on emissions and ish but we also have rust which sucks when i get home im plannin on sanding all the paint down and then im gunna fix all the rust too while im doing that

 

what should be done after? i got a buddy i want to weld patches on for me.. but idk how to make or prep anything? my floors on driver and pass side along with the rear wheel wells?
