Convertation of 88` Formula to 91` Formula
Hello!
I few weeks ago I owned Firebird Formula 1988 with cracked front bumper. And I want to install Formula`s 91 front and rear bumpers.
What kind of parts I need to change for it...may be headlights, fenders...or something else?
Thanx!

I think you need different headlight lids... The back bumper will bolt right on. The front also has a different blinker setup. You need all the brackets and such off the newer nose. Some even say you need the newer headlight motors, but I am not positive. Someone with more knowledge should be chiming in pretty soon.

The rear bumper bolts right on so that won't be a problem. There's a little extra work involved for the front bumper. First of all, you need to get the matching front turn signals with the pigtails. You'll also need 91-92 headlight assemblies and also pigtails for the headlights because they use a different connector. (We have a set of 91-92 headlight assemblies available on our site if you're interested.)

The rear bumper won't be just a slap on bumper. It will buldge out slightly in the middle because the lisence plate is deeper on the 91/92 bumpers than on the 82-90s, so you will have to trim the plastic cushioning slightly, and the underneath holes for the plastic push pins won't line up, so if your concerned about them, you will need to drill new holes. Again, not a big deal over all, but just something i noticed when i threw a 91 rear bumper on my '88. As far as the front, the metal frame in the front is different (more rounder), the plastic cushioning is different, bumper cover is different. As far as the headlights, the piece that mounts to the radiator frame is the same, but the bucket that holds the bulb is different, and the lid has 1 different bolt hole to show that, along with different bezels and a smaller headlight itself. The only thing that will be the same is the filler panel in the front that holds the latch pretty much. The rest you need from a '91/92 donor car. Good luck!

Re: Convertation of 88` Formula to 91` Formula
Thanx for all who has answered on my question!
I`ll thing some more about this conversion, because I have one problem, I`m living in Moscow (Russia) and don`t have light access to american junk yards, all parts I need to order. And many little problems can arise.
But the view of 91-92 Formula are awesome!
