headlight motor overheating?

so i just installed a new used headlight motor form hawks and the motor works fine the first couple times up and down but then it starts to come up at majorly delayed times from the other side. Then it completely stops coming up and going down until i actually touch the motor. So i wait 10 maybe 15 minutes and try it again but again it doesn't come up. So i go to touch it and burn my hand on the headlight motor.

Any ideas on how to fix this will be very helpful?

Thanks,
Shawn
