Re: Paint help
You can do it yourself but it will take time if you have never done this kind of work before. After all you are trying to do something that is a trade skill and can take years to master. I say go for it, you may need some tools and advise and more paint for mistakes!
I could not afford to pay a shop to do my cars for me like some people in my clubs do.
It is nice when finished you can say "I painted that in my garage" .
Who know you may even find a new line of work if you like it.

Re: Paint help
Did your paint job come with a warranty?
Why do you say that your paint is crappy? Is it just dull and needs to be buffed/polished?
If you want to do it yourself then go for it.HOWEVER, dont just go jumping in and sanding everything.Knowledge is power.Get yourself some good reading material or DVDs on paint prep and painting so you dont end up with another crappy paint job that ya gotta do again in 2 years.
This place has tons of dvd's.

Re: Paint help
If the car was not prepped correctly before the paint that you have now was put on then you will need to strip it to bare metal. The car I just bought had a really bad paint job. It was peeling off because they did not sand the car. So i am stripping it all off.
