Question about a hood
Question about a hood
I got a hood off a 89 firebird to put on my 92, the hood has a slight cowl looking slope on the driver side, thought at first it was for a tachometer, but it seemed to big of a hole
i found a picture off google images of a guys firebird with the same hood,
like to know if this hole need to be sealed or if it can be left opened

Re: Question about a hood
it can be left open. it can be sealed. its up to you. i dont KNOW the functional use, but i can assume that air passing under the nose of the car can vent out the top of the hood thru that hole.

Re: Question about a hood
That is the stock "Formula" hood.
In some years (carb'd) it was designed as an actual air cleaner inlet, to draw in cool air from the outside, from the cowl.
Open or closed, your choice.
