2010 camaro head lights on a third gen

I wonder what it would take to install 2010 camaro headlights in a third gen.I have never seen the halo lights in person to estimate mods needed.Anyone ever seen this done?
this could end up being really cool if done right

Re: 2010 camaro head lights on a third gen

I don't think round lights of any kind would look good on the straight lines of a 3rd gen Camaro.

Re: 2010 camaro head lights on a third gen

You'd would have to measure the height of the 2010 lights. They look too big to fit.

There have been threads about guys who put rounds lights on their car but it would TAKE A LOT of work to make them look good.

I saw a really ugly Third Gen here in Dubai where someone put a 2010 front end and rear end on it. It looked like total ****.

A REAL car, or just a drawing, like above?

Dunno, the 2010 Camaro headlights sit in a square frame. I agree it would have to be done right for it to look good though.

please dont give him bad ideas, yea that mod looks great at the cost of much needed structural integrity in our already extremly loose bodied cars

Im going with the BMW E-36 angle eye cause I can reweld a small brace to reinforce the removed structure and I love the look!

Re: 2010 camaro head lights on a third gen

aren't you aware of how loose the F-Body is? they flex, ALOT, and that upper core support is key a key support in preventing flex in the front end, cut away 3/4 of that and what are you left with? frame rails that can flex and possible break away

Lets say the damage is done, what would you do to correct the structure short of removing the lights and just re welding the orig. piece back in?
Any suggested bracing that would get the job done?(eg.triangulating rad support to body/frame?)

I think that would be one of the best mod you could do to a 3rd gen as far as a bolt on body kit or so.

I love that mod might have to do it soon... As far as cutting the rad support, if your really that worried about the frame flexing flip the piece you cut out upside down and weld it back in use it as a lower mount for the housing and boxing in the sides would also reinforce the structure. That way you can have your angel eyes and not sacrifice rigidity.

And as for the 5th Gen Kit on the 3rd Gen I'd do it but only if I could put an LS9 under there and a 6 speed.

I'll be here all week!!!

Re: 2010 camaro head lights on a third gen

Honestly I would make a bolt on plate that would wrap around the back of the cut areas, I would definately invest in a wonder bar and strut tower brace. And look if you have the three triangular braces for the frame rails. And lastly sfc's will help stiffen the entire car

i REALLY want to see this done. i think it would look good if someone could mod it so the blinkers could be moved next to it in the headlight well to fill in the gap.

What's wrong with the thirdgen design? Everyone always tries to mod it into something it isn't, frankenmaro, BMW, 5th gen. It's a thirdgen, enjoy it for the timeless design that it has.

Because not everyone is a Stock ****. People who mod their cars are just adding their on flair/style to it. It's an expressive art form.

I like doing things that sets my car apart from everyone else. I'm adding projector HIDs too mine in a couple weeks. Already modified everything else to LEDs. I like giving my car more modern features.

I'm not really a fan of what was mentioned here, but if the OP thinks he can do it and make it look good. All the power too him, hope he posts pics if he's able to do it.

I think that what ever suits your style is good enouph for you if othres dont like it so what its not there car. If you add strut tower brace and a wonder bar, abd maybe weld in some triangular suports you should be just fine.

I'm not sure about the 2010 camaro lights but I've seen a few 3rd gens with the bmw lights put in them. There is even a thread on tgo that details step by step with pictures on how to do this conversion. Its fairly expensive but worth while if you want the halo's

Imagine them tucked in behind everything. The BMW halos a Guy on here did looked sily before he shoehorned them in there.

I'm using projector headlights from a 99 Suburban and also using ccfl halos from a BMW Z3 taped off at the bottom to give it that "parenthesis halo" look from the 2010 Camaro.

That Looks good. Where did you get the headlight covers? How much was involved inputting the suburban projectors in?

I made the headlight covers. To get the headlights in I had to carve out much of the fiberglass headlight bar to get the headlight and adjustment mount to fit.

A 69 RS Hidden headlight front end would look good if made properly. Just my opinion though.

I dig yours more than the E36 headlights. Nice touch on the covers and the white parking lights.

I used to sell them a while back but stopped making them. It was too time consuming.

I wish you would sell a few more. I bought some made by "Wade" and they suck. Huge gaps on either side. I may try to use them as templates to make my own but I'm not the greatest at making things that need to look nice when I'm done.

What causes the GTS and Wade covers to fly off is rushing air going up underneath the front part and since the air has no where to go in the headlight bucket it will pushed it out from the back side and pop it out. All you have to do to prevent that is screw in some L-shaped brackets at the bottom of the covers and bend them to match the angle of the cover. Then screw in the brackets to bumper. Drill a couple of holes in the covers (be careful not to crack the cover while drilling) and bolt them on. I used 1/4 turn fasteners. Here's a pic of my setup to give you an idea.

I think the 2010 lights would look good. It probably will be expensive though.
