Re: Unique Front Design aka 1st Gen

I will do it in 2 Stages. Since I never had a V8 I decided to do the bodywork and the color how I plan it, and drive it without Turbo for a while. I want to know how fast a V8 really is. Then I use the chip the previous owner gave me and the bigger injectors.

A few months later I will get the Twin Turbo Kit and that will be the time when I also change the transmission to Standard.

Next step is going to be the front and the hood.

I enjoy pointing people toward this guy because I think what he is doing on his current project is pretty darn cool.

I want to use the original IROC-Z hood because the goal is to create a front that looks very wide and the car will be low too like I created it in the picture:

If I use any other hood, it will destroy the wide effect. But what I am going to do it to open the parts completely where the covers from the IROC-Z on it are, for air outtake. This is going to be useful for the turbo later, because I know how much heat they produce. I am going to close them from the inside with something like that:

For the front i am not going to use metal - at least nothing in silver. I want the frontlights and the area inside all dark maybe completely black. I want it to look like on the picture. I will have to see what I can use for that.

Sure can. If I get done working early enough, I'll do it tomorrow.

The hood latch is well behind that area anyways, so I don't think it would REQUIRE hood pins. You could just use the stock latch just as easily, right?

Unfortunately no. I removed all of the support framing for the hood latch system so there is no place to remount it. It was the only way I could come up with the desired result.

right with ya there the first time i say the pics the word DODGE CHALLENGER popped up in my head doesnt look like a camaro 1 freakin bit. the very first pics i think is ugly but czv6977's example looks pretty nice with the original headlights but i think the beemer headlights look ugly. just my 2cents im not trying to be rude but i just thik its to flat looking more of a slant in the grill might be better plus im assuming added aerodynamics.

Re: Unique Front Design aka 1st Gen

today i started with the front of the car. its already cut out. looks way better already the car. at the same time, actually in this moment, i am working on a custom version of the rear bumper too. i cant just leave it how it is if i do something agressive in the front too.

i gonna make some pics tomorrow of the front. i think i gonna do it more or less the same way as my friend which liked my idea and did the same hehe.
