Need Help Fixing Body *Edited*

Ok so I own a 1988 Camaro RS. I am in the process of restoring and doing motor swaps in it right now.

I'm also getting ready on getting the equip. needed to start practicing True Fire flames because I guess I'll be doing my own....fun fun. But before I paint the car.....the body needs alittle bit of work. I will post pics with this one.

I just need some help on what materials to get, how to do it, and the best way of doing it.

Ok now there is a rectangle cutout in the bumper. I don't know why or who. I think it looks stupid and I can't think of any real logic why someone would do that. I think that may be easier. And in another photo there is like a piece missing on the drivers side...above and next to the head light.

That might be a pain to fix. Other then that its mainly surface rust...that will sand off. And I know the hood above the drivers side in that pic is dented but I am buying a new hood for this one anyways. So reply to this or email me.

Give me your advice. Would love to use it.

Oh & sorry about the pics being attachments...I don't have a url for them. So I hope yall can understand what I am talking about.

Ok I am editing this because I was in a hurry and its my fault because in my eyes I didn't explain the pics enough ok Pic 1...is the nose above and next to drivers side headlight. Umm I agree with replaced that panel. Because I want this car to look elite sooo that one I think we are ok on. The 2nd pic is of the front ground effects on the passenger side where it begins to curve around to the back...so hopefully thats what yall thought it was....and thats to only spot besides some scratches and paint damage which I am sure will come off. And the back bumper is just exactly what I explained. Other then that its only surface rust. Umm I am not good with terms...like chin...I think I know what ya mean but I am learning so sorry kinda explain lol. Sorry for the confusion. And thank you for being supportive guys.

The first pic is the nose cone? I'm no expert, but I'd try replacing that since a whole chunk is gone.

2nd pic chin spoiler? If so, looks repairable if that's the worst of it.

3rd pic - should be repairable as well.

There's special stuff required to fix those plastic bumper pieces - check out eastwood.com or with a local body shop to get it - it's like a 2 part epoxy that stays flexible when dried, yet is sandable. I've never personally used it, as I'm no body work guru.

AND - make sure that motor is PINK when you drop it in, so you can be as cool as I am! In fact, I really think you need to paint the whole car PINK to match!

Re: Need Help Fixing Body

Thanks for posting some pics.

Replace front bumper since damage is too great and repair will never look 100%. Check local junk yards and craigslist. Should find one for $100. Reproductions are $300 and may not fit right. Chin and rear bumper are fixable but would be easier to get used ones as well. Any 85 and up front bumper will fit, rear from 85-90 should look the same. Check out this thread

Bumpers and gfx are flexible polyurethane plastic. You want repair/filler material to be flexible as well. Most auto part stores sell epoxy bumper repair kits. If you want to repair rear bumper, I think you have two options. One is to completely fill with flexible material and sand. Second option is to splice in small used piece of bumper material into hole and finish with filler. Both would need some type or rear structural support which most bumper repair kits come with.

I have to do similar repairs to mine as well. I went with a fast drying flexible urethane filler from evercoat. Spent $70 on filler, metal repair panels for backside and panel prep spray. Probably over kill for your situation but their website has good instructional video (so does 3m's site). I went to local autofinishers shop and they only had 3m filler at $42 where evercoat was $27 online. http://www.evercoat.com/productCategory.aspx?cat=6

If you paint car pink, do these people come with it too?

Lmao hahaha CUTE!!! But not happening. Car body is gonna be mainly black with Lime Green True Fire flames coming up on the hood and from the front wheels on to the doors. And the flames will have a touch of glitter flakes in them. Hey I am female....gotta be alittle girl power in there somewhere lol. Thanx for your help though!!!...I don't think I could rock the pink like you can anyways hehe.
