looks good. I assume this is flat black, not primer...? should look real good once you hide the red under-sides and finish putting it all back together. great project!!

Looks good reminds me of my car except I got formula wheels and a power bulge hood. What kind of wheels are those I like them.

actually it is primer cough cough rattle can. Once i get an air compressor i am probably going to start all over on the paint but for now it will do the trick. It is garage kept so rust is not really an issue

not really sure, my buddy had them put on over 10 years ago. you can't really see them in the pics but they are filthy. I used some clr on the passenger side front rim and all the scum and tarnish came off and they look almost brand new and shiny. Only bad thing is they sat for so long the driver side rim has flat spots and doesn't really hold air

what grit are you sanding up too? On those large spots make sure you cross sand it with a line sander so it will stay even? if you use a D.A. you may get divets in the filler that you'll have to redo.. also it never hurts to use a contrasting color to bring to the surface spots that are going to need work... I always start out with 80... then 180... 220... 320... 400 then wax and grease remover and primer...
Looking good though... you know a friend of mine has a 305 tbi motor and harness you might be able to use for cheap...

Re: before and after (almost)
i just got done working on the hood tonight, not finished with it though. I have been using 100 grit to scuff up the old paint but i make sure it is pretty smooth before i primered it. but yes i have 60 i am using on the filler then i will go over that with 100 then probably prime. I also have 400 and 1000 for later when i do actually get around to the actual paint job. I have never done paint or body work, but being an artist i am very picky on detail and so far i am pleased with how it has came out so far, oh and about that motor,........i'l pm you

Be careful when you get ready for paint not to go too fine with the grit sand paper or it will actually make it harder for the paint to stick. I think I used 220 as my final before paint on the primer. 180 to 220...you can use 320 I think but anything finer may be an issue.

Re: before and after (almost)
so far i haven't used finer than 100, i did use the 400 to smooth out a couple places where i accidently had a drop from the paint but other than that it has came out great. The budy who gave me the car thought i bought new bumpers and ground effects. lol
