frame straightening...
so i know for a fact my frame is probably out 1/16" to 1/8" off. I have to get a salvage inspection and they are saying to pass even though it is a subframe car it has to be on manufacturer spec. stupid i know...they are out a little bit no matter what all the time. (usually)
so instead of paying the potentially ridiculous price to straighten it for no reason if need be. Will subframe connectors straighten it or what?

Re: frame straightening...
first off, a 3rd gen is not a sub-framed car, it's a unibody.... Subframe connectors won't straighten anything.... A good shop should be able to pull your car straight if it's only off as little as you state in 2 or 3 hours....Then after it's straight is the time to put in your connectors....
Actually, these cars "move" so easy, I've straightened a couple of 3rd gens with minor tweaks in the structure with a couple of tie downs in the floor and a porta-power!!!! They're easy to move around and get straight....

so it should not be too costly if they have to straighten it 1/8"? could you elaborate how you managed to straighten your frame? and where you take measurements etc? I think they should overlook it being out so minor being a UNIBODY car dont you think?

Re: frame straightening...
All the factory specs are available, either on line or by befriending someone at a local body shop with a frame rack.... the one's I straightend, one was tweaked to the right....with the engine and trans removed, I tied the car to the floor tie downs and pushed the left side, pulled the right side back to spec. with a SIZE LARGE porta power....15 ton cap. porta power.... The second one was even easier, the left front was up about 1/2"....again, with the engine and transmission out of the car, I tied it down to the floor tie downs with the car on jackstands and used a 4 ton floor jack to push the rail back up to spec.... A bit of hammer and torch work followed by a couple of 10ga. plates over the previously bent area and all was well.....
