The date your looking at is most likely when the paint was mixed. as for how long paint lasts different brands seem to last to diffrent times, i've use paint that is 20 yrs old but but it wasn't on anything important. I would say as long as it has never been mixed with its hardener/activater and still thins out good it should be alright. I would test a small sample to see it it still thins down and hardens alrigtht. if it comes down to just put a Buyer beware label on it to worn that the paint is old an may or may not work. On a side note House of Color hasn't been around that long has it, it's proly still good. Do you know it was mixed?

there is no expiration. if it isnt hardened or gelled its fine. On occasion i have used base coats that are up 20 years old.

Ok, thanks guys. Good to know. Just didnt want to f anyone over. So I have a bunk of HOK stuff that I am looking to get rid of if anyone is interested. Hasnt been mixed or anything. I have base coat, clear, kandy, hardeners... Lots of stuff. I can get part number for those interested. From my calculations, it is enough to do a car, with some left over I would say. I got a silver base with tangerine kandy. It makes a pretty sweet color. I spent around $1000 on all of it I believe.

Be sure it didn't freeze. Then there's no telling what you'll find.
