Painting T-Top Rail

It looks like the factory coated these with some kind of thin rubber layer to minimize scratching from all the abuse of taking off and putting on the t-tops. I have stripped mine down to bare metal and need to paint it. Any suggestions on what materials to use? I don't have an air compressor/sprayer....

Thanks man, looks like the stuff I need. After I apply it, what kind of paint should I use to cover it? Will it still need primer?

Re: Painting T-Top Rail

i no it's off topic but i like the t-top rail painted. Good choice, heres a pic....idk what paint. I'm pretty sure my friend that painted car used a spray can primer then paint. I have aftermarket t-tops and i know the rail is aluminum, (don't know if factory t-tops are also)

Por it right over bare metal. you'll probably like the way it looks unpainted. But you can paint on Por-15 easily.

POR 15 is designed to go where the sun don't shine. If you don't paint it, it will fade out to a dull finish and look like crap. I used the Duplicolor Trim Black on mine. It's almost a perfect match. I heard that the SEM trim black is more of an exact match.
