Water behind windshield glass. Near pillar
I just got my car and have a few things that I have a question about.
it just rained hard and it seems that water somehow got behind the glass it had small drops on the left and right side right near th seal next to the pillars.
Anyway have this happen before? I guess I need to get the windshield replaced or could it just be a seal? BTW the ttops don't leak.
Thanks
Mike

When this happened did it pool on your floor? is that how it rotted? My doesn't leak anywhere I can see. Some of it gets stuck behind the windsheld by the pillars.

Re: Water behind windshield glass. Near pillar
Mine did that for a while. Not all the time. I finally figured out it would come from the window seal at the top. The seal wasn't sealing well anymore. I put sealant to temporarily fix it it until we got the new windshield and trim. It did stop the leaks from around the glass. Now I also had a leak at the center t-top bar that would run down the a-pilliar. We were told they didn't think they'd be able to take out our old trim from around the windshield without it breaking so we didn't go with original trim we went with what they put in which seals better anyway. Well, the old stuff came out fine but the glue holding the glass in wouldn't let go so it cracked. We got new windshield and trim for $100. Not too bad.
Oh, I did get some puddles on the floor sometimes and it would be right above the windshield.

Afraid this means you need to replace the windshield. As others have mentioned, the resulting damage, left untreated, can be extensive.
My company books auto glass appointments, and we make sure the guy doing the work gives you a life time warranty. If you don't get that kind of commitment, find another glass shop.
Do it quickly - this leak could be causing the frame of your vehicle to rust.

When mine was in storage (before I owned it) it had an old cracked windshield that leaked a little and the water would pool around the VIN.
No damage to the floors or posts but the VIN plate is super rusty and hard to read so watch out for that because the fuzz always give me a hard time at the inspection station.
