86 trans am

i have a 86 ta and need to know what year model will fit. need the rubber spoiler on the rear. also clear coat is coming off, is ther anything to be done other than repaint?

The wrap around wing was the same in 85 & 86, in 87 they went from being a rubber surface and texture to being smooth and painted body color. Up through 90 all are the same style and mount the same. You probably won't have much luck finding an original in good used condition, but there are aftermarket fibreglass replicas available, or there used to be anyway.

The peeling clear coat means repaint.

thanks for your info, that's not really what i wanted to here. I just bought the car and it had been sitting for about a year. I to only has 76,000 miles. The people i bought it from bought it when it had 1699 miles in 87. what about the bird decal on the hood? is it hard to find just like everything else?

The decals are easy. You can get genuine licensed reproductions from Phoenix Graphics. http://phoenixgraphics.com/transam/8586ta.htm
There are other sources also, but watch out for the Ebay reproductions, they're usually knock off vinyl garbage.
