That isn't entirely the correct nut. They can be used on the front fenders, but for the body, there was a special rubber speed nut. It actually had a rubber gasket like thing inside the speed nut that would prevent any water or anything front entering the car. You can obviously add some gasket maker to any of those speed nuts, it just gets messy really quickly. I got all mine free from my local GM dealer, he said that they don't use them anymore.

Also make sure you get the correct size. I want to say the GFX that goes on the door is slightly smaller than the rest of the kit. Also you can still get new front brackets, i believe HAWKs sells them, they are for the pieces that go ahead of the front wheels behind the front bumper.

Not sure, but my GM dealer had them in a drawer on the side of a garage they don't use. He said they don't use them anymore, and when he tried ordering me the nuts via the part number supplied, it was regular 10mm nuts, which is incorrect. I'm assuming somewhere down the road, serious rusting issues arrose with these brackets and they reproduced them with bolt studs on the bracket, much like the new front brackets available i mentioned earlier. They have bolt studs instead of the regular plain stud for the cutting nuts. I went through this same process with my firebird in my signature, so feel free to ask any questions, i'll try and help.

You know I need these also, I've see the ones at Lowes but like someone else said they don't have the rubber gasket in them like the OEM ones do.

Anyone know of a place that might have some similar to the OEM type, with the rubber gasket?
