1985 Camaro Sport Coupe Ground Effects

Hello, I have an 85 Camaro Sport Coupe, and need to know what I need to upgrade my base 85 Camaro Sport Coupe to have ground effects? What will fit, and what changes if any do I need to make, other than adding extensions?

Richard.

It's not too hard to add ground effects to your car. The rocker ground effect pieces have a bracket welded to the body for support but you could bolt them on as well. All you need to do is drill some mounting holes for the door and rear quarter pieces and bolt them on. You'll also need to change your front and rear bumpers but they will be direct bolt ons.

We have most of the pieces you need available on our site if you're interested. Thanks!!!

I'm also in the same boat with my '86 SC, Does your model have the 3 intake vents on the nose RJ? I bought my camaro with the intension of putting z28/iroc ground effects on but realised to put something like this on: http://thirdgenranch.com/-strse-540/...per/Detail.bok would compromise the 3 intake vents?

GFX are more common then not. For the most part they're cosmetic and dead weight. If you really want ground effects, buy a RS, Z28, etc.

Do the swap right, the end result is a car that looks like any other RS or Z28... Do it wrong, you end up with a goofy looking frankenmaro. If you want to see how goofy GFX look tacked onto a Sport Coupe, search some of the companies that make aftermarket GFX. They've usually got several pics of cars finished with their products.

Yes, it is the stock SC grill, no fog lights. Richard.

So if you wanted to put a z28/iroc bumper on the front, surely you would have to modify the air intake, as from what I can see the 3 cents on the nose feed it? I am being stupid? is there an easy way to do the swap? By the way Drew, my camaro already looks like a frankenmaro, the dude I bought it from just riveted a z28 lower chin spoiler to it and did a very poor job! it looks ghastly at the moment!

No need for the nostrils the dual snorkel will breathe easily with the z28 nose the air is actually pulled through grille...infact the snorkel set up is actually on some of the tuned port IROC's.
