Correct location of door trim?

Correct location of door trim?
I have a 1986 Iroc-Z at the paint shop right now. Unfortunately I didn't have the original rubber stripes, the one that go on the door and the extra little pieces on the front fender and the rear quarter. So I bought a set of the newer wider stripes (88+ I think) on ebay.
My question is, do this go above or below the vein on the door? I feel like they should go below, but I've seen pics with them above the vein.
