Weatherstrip Seal Gaps Due to Shrinkage?

At the fore and aft butt joints between the TTOp outer weatherstrip seal and the door frame weatherstrip there are 1/2 inch gaps. The outer TTop outer rubber seal is simply no longer long enough to reach both ends and now I have considerable gaps at both ends.

Has anybody seen this before? I'm guess age/heat related 'shrinking' of the seals so that they no longer are touching at either end?

I expect to replace the outer TTop seals -

QUESTION: should I also replace the entire set of seals around the door/top opening? (they are original GM in excellent condition, perhaps slightly less soft than when new - car has been kept garaged most if it's life though the GA was un-airconditioned).

thanks
