Subframe Connectors
Hey everyone. I am looking for some sub-frame connectors for my 90 Black GTA with C&C T-tops. Is there really a no wrong choice on what brand to choose for subframe connectors as I am leaning towards UMI from Hawks ( http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/82...arbmr-1-2.aspx ) as its on sale and seems good. Spohn also seems like another decent choice but the circular design and additional cost for having them black runs me $100 more than the UMI. Any input or advice on these two brands or others would be appreciated, Josh

Best advice I've heard is to go with the bolt on's but to then weld them in as well. As far as who to buy from, I leave that to the more experienced.

Hmm....from what i've read the majority says to go with the weld in types over bolts ins which is probably what i'll do. I think i'll probably end up going with the UMI ones as they fit my budget and there everything I seem to be looking for.

UMI makes a really nice SFC, you can usually see the bar on one side of the car, but since its black, it will hide well. The square bars make nice jacking points too. BMR also makes a nice set of SFC for these cars.

One question, do these UMI subframe connectors or all subframe connectors for that matter affect my ground clearance at all? The UMI description says they don't but who knows. Right now my car is stock height but I would like to lower it an inch or possibly 2 max in the future.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. The bolt on's will locate the SFC,the welding will make it stay in place.
Anyway, difference in philosophy. Agreed the bolt holes will stretch over time, on the other hand, how do you know that the weld-in's are positioned right.
