im about to get my car painted by a shop im doing all the body work and masking so its only 250 for the base and clear,and since im new at body work i dont wanna keep my plan for jet black. so im going with red, but i want a GM red color like my old 1994 trans am, any clue where to buy it or any other places to buy a nice red?

Depending on the actual color of your vehicle in 94 it possibly could be
Dark Red 48/WA9096
Bright Red 72/WA7475
Raspberry Metallic Clearcoat 85/WA9928

Scratch the above codes as I seem some descrepancy's use them as a reference point only

what ever you buy stay away from Sherwin Williams. Their Toledo store promised me a 90% paint match. My car is red and they game me orange-red very obvious difference. Go with PPG, Dupont, or the like.

 

I will add to this. I think what your are saying is if you want a factory paint job, then use your cars body paint code and use only PPG, Dupont, and the like.
But be prepared to spend TWICE as much going with these last three as opposed to the restoration shop colors. I do not think restoration colors are paint matched but not 100% sure.
