Upgrading an 84

I know this has probably been on here at some point but I'm tired of searching. I'm sure someone else has done it. Maybe it's against 3rd gen law or something.

I want to put ground effects on an 84 and I know it's 82-84, 85-90(I think), 91-92 as far as bumpers and ground effects. I not ecspecially picky about what years go with which. I'm looking for a certain look. I've heard there is a brace in the bumper areas that changes the fit. Could you drill out the spot welds and replace it.

Also is there a good location of pics that show the difference between years. I've gone thru quite a few pics on here and it's ends up being confusing. Some pics small, some large and so many different places. Should I just get an LMC type book or what.

I might stick with 82-84 but I haven't found any good pics yet or in the parts section.

I believe that on the 82-84 cars, the front and rear bumpers are different enough that in order to change to the newer style gfx, you would need to change them completely. The side gfx I believe can bolt right on. I really am not sure exactly, just basing it on what I have seen up close.
