Ok, heres my question.
Could a First Gen style exterior gas cap fit on a third gen?

Since those fit in the filler neck & a 3rd gen filler neck is down in a pocket, behind a gas door......I'd say you'd hafta extend the neck, then hafta deal with how close that gas caps diameter is to the diameter of a 3rd gen gas door.
Definitely some cutting & welding going on, to get it to fit & look right. Just remember......NOTHING is impossible.
