Hatch not centering, pulls to the right. how do I adjust the hatch?

I have been working on the body work on my firebird with a friend, and he didn't know about the trunk motor, and slammed the hatch on top of the motor. it now does not center correctly. it pulls to the right. it is very tight on the right side, and there is a larger gap on the left side. is there a way to adjust this?

You should be able to loosen rear latch mechanism behind lower interior trim and move back to left however far you need. The holes are sloted for such adjustment.
