hatch troubles

Ok i never have posted for help before. Normally search for hours till i find what info i need. But here i go i bought another parts car but i cant get the hatch open and i dont have a lock in it. It was out when i bought the car i need the back plastic pieces in tack cause in need them for my car. I cant get it to open i pulled out the light in the back panel and tried pulling on the cable didnt work then tried to use a screw driver to open it thru the same hole from the light. Only problem with that is that i get the screw driver lined up with the correct hole cause on my panel the light is not in the middle of the panel. it is offset the the passgenger side. Please any help with this would great. Thanks Matt

Re: hatch troubles

I was going to suggest removing the cargo light and trying a flat head screwdriver, but it seems you have tried that, it always works for me though. If there is no lock cylinder in the back, reach the screwdriver through that hole, and try it that way.

Re: hatch troubles

Never thought about trying it from the other side (key hole side) i just got home from work. If the flashlight has good enough batteries i will go out and try it now.
