how tight is YOUR body?
I started to feel a little self conscience about mine lol....
But seriously, I spent today reinstalling the front fenders, hood, nose, and 1 ground effect onto my 91 Trans Am and I don't feel very confident about a few gaps. Its not too bad but I just wanted some feedback and possibly some close-ups of yours.
door gap:

driver's fender isn't perfectly flush with the nose:

passenger fender/nose area

gap between top of fender and nose... i got it tightened just a little more after this picture was taken
pass:

drivers:

Feedback and pictures would be great.... thanks!

Your talking build quality that was a design of the 1970s. It's not going to be up to par with 2010 build quality. After market fenders make it even worse then that. You can also drill out the holes a little bigger so you have some room to line-up gaps better where the fender and bumper meet. Also be sure to use body shims to raise your fender higher for the door gap. They go between the uni-body and the fender bolts under the hood.
Your door gap actually looks like it should.

Thanks man! I knew that it would be almost impossible to reach perfection but I just wanted to know if I could/should do better. I guess the biggest test will be seeing how it looks with paint, which will be in about a week!

The other thing to keep in mind is that the 91-92 front bumpers don't fit all that great. You should be able to close up the gaps a bit, but don't be too surprised if the panels don't match up too closely. Part of what you're dealing with is just the developed skill of professional body work.

another thing i noticed, you are re using the bumper cover. thats a rubber product and over time it has shrunk to some degree so thats another reason you will have fitment issues.
iv heard it from many body shop folks that in the time third gens were made fitment wasnt that great. i can show you a place right behind my door where the rocker meets the panel under the sail panel that it steps out at the door and goes flush and the other side is correct.
