Aluminum front bumper support

I bought one off ebay several years ago(have I owned this thing for THAT long?) and after painting and restoring it I find out it is different from the one on my car. No photos at the moment, but it appears longer, flatter and with a bend at each end, rather that the gentle curve of the stock steel one.

Does anyone know what I have; will it swap in with little or no modification; does anyone have a proper Camaro aluminum support they want to swap for it?

Re: Aluminum front bumper support

I bought one from a junkyard.. pulled it from an 84 Z-28 myself. Got it home and found the same thing. It's not the same as the one from my 88 RS. It mounts differently, and apparently isn't a direct bolt on for the newer nose style. It could be made to work with some modifications, but I wasn't interested in that.

Possible you ended up with a Firebird one.
