Squeaking coming from around D/S mirror; don't think its the mirror.

Squeaking coming from around D/S mirror; don't think its the mirror.
I have had a squeak near the driver side mirror since I got the car. Today I took the door panel off and attempted to tighten the mirror down; It tightened a small amount more and I test drove it; the squeak was still there. Upon further investigation, I noticed that its coming from the door, right at the corner near where the mirror attaches, but its not actually the mirror. Has anyone else encountered this? If you push on the corner of the door in front of the mirror, the squeak starts.....
Any ideas would be great; my passenger side is quiet, I'd really like the D/S to be as well!

Have you tried driving with the panel off to see if it squeaks . if it doesn't I would say your panel top with the window sweep is vibrateing causing the skueak . Or if it still does it the window triangle could be the cause .

I think its actually the weld that connects the skin to the actual door structure. There's noticeable flex on the door skin at that point on the drivers door; whereas the passenger door (which doesn't squeak) is tight.

No idea . I would say just vibration or warpping could cause the seam to come loose .

I was in the same ballpark. Took the panel off to tighten the mirror also.. No dice. Then I looked at the door skin and its got a small crack to the front I'm thinking thats what it is.
