body shop estimates -guide coat and block?

im currently getting my cars body straight i know the works about 95% perfact i may like to take the car into a shop and have them give it a once over and fix any areas that may have been missed, i know a estimates a shot in the dark since there are so many variables. what would be the cost and time of a guide coat and having it blocked?

When I get to that stage, I shoot one more coat of hi-build primer and block with a guide coat, first with 220, then with 400 grit... For me, the final block would be a full days, work. Add another day to clean up, mask, and shoot + materials...then a final day to color sand and buff. Probably 20-24 hours for the whole deal plus materials. No idea what labor is in your area or how expensive of paint you're using so hard to guess on a total.

hard to say when you don't specify what kind of job you want and what kind og materials you want them to use... there will be shops that will go arround the car with a DA shoot the primer and then "block it" again with the DA so that will give you a low estimate, the brand of primer and quality they use also affects the time it takes to block it...

But here's what "my" estimate is without seeing the car and in general:
10hrs to go around it fix couple flaws you missed mask it and shoot high build
9hr block with 180 then 220 mask and shoot final high build primer coat
9hr block again with 320 then 600 to have it ready for paint unmask and clean up

28hrs here in california "average" labor rate is $50 the shop i work for charges $95 because we are an rv shop

average estimate is $1400 plus $250 materials but as radical said we don't know the labor rate in your area... (thats including jambs)

complete good paint job runs about $3500-$4000

hope this gives you an idea.
