I'm at the point where I'm ready to paint my car, finally. I've taken the bumpers, fenders etc. off so I can paint them separately, and paint the engine bay while the motor is out.

I'm going to paint it myself, gotta learn somehow right?

But my questions, how much of my car would I be able to paint at a time with my 30 gallon air compressor?

And what size nozzle on the paint gun would work well? I'm assuming I'll want different sizes, for primer and paint... But I'm a newb at this. Help please Thank you

Re: Painting soon... Couple questions
I painted several with a 5hp, 20 gallon, single stage. You may want to check out the HVLP guns. Some kits come with two guns or multiple tips. Make certain you have good filters at the compressor and at the gun. You can't have ANY water coming through. Three coats base and the same for clear and you can color sand it. I sprayed primer, base, and clear with the same tip. But I knew I was going to color sand it later. Same for single stage, as long as it's good quality. Wet your shop floor down with water, just prior to painting, to help keep dust down. Don't create puddles, but just enough to keep any dust/dirt from being stirred up.
