Has anyone tried Corroseal for rust ?
Has anyone tried Corroseal for rust ?
Hey guys, I just stumbled across this stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4qFIDsAO7A looks like it's pretty good.. Would anyone recommend it or something similar for heavy duty rust removal?
My 84 Trans Am has more rust then we originally thought... and being NYC that's no good at all..I have no garage to store it or anything like that. No rust holes yet atleast (thank the gods of thirdgens for that) but if I keep it as it is, it'll get to that point.
I want get some sort of rust protection before the winter to battle the salt but i'm not very savvy when it comes to body work... My family thinks I should just get rid of the car before winter comes around but i'm stubborn and i've grown attached ... Plus it's in really good shape mechanically...
It's my first car and my DD so I don't exactly want it to be showroom quality car... I just need something that'll get rid of that rust for relatively cheap (i'm on a really tight budget) before it starts eating through...
It makes me feel bad thinking about selling it or letting it rust out... I don't wanna sell it to some kid who's gonna be doing burnouts at every red light or someone who's gonna part it out.. I rather just keep it and take good care of it and not ever let it see the junkyard
Trying my best to keep a precious third gen on the streets!
So any info on this product? I read the review for Rust Bullet on this site too but I want to be sure before I throw money down on anything. Any help will be appreciated.
or as a 2nd to last resort... Anyone know a good shop in NY or the surrounding states that'll do a good job for a not-too-high price?

I don't think you'll be finding much help on that. I've been looking for some insight into Rust Bullet for 2 months and haven't got anything. I've already got rust issues thanks to NY roads and salt/sand, and I don't want them coming back after I get rid of them. Most anybody who uses that type of stuff here uses POR15, which I don't think would suit my needs very well, with having to buy all of the extra BS just to get it to work.

Their Marine Clean, Metal Ready, and that stuff you HAVE to put on it so you can put paint over it... Rust Bullet is useable and paintable right the way it is (except the surface SHOULD be degreased beforehand).
