How to primer urethane bumpers?

I'm not new to painting cars and such, but everything i have painted prior to my camaro were older cars and trucks with no urethane body parts. My question is can i use epoxy primer on these parts with out the use of adhesion promoters or flex agents. the epoxy i will be useing is the Summit Brand 2 part epoxy primer, i have used this on bare metal and as a sealer on other paint jobs with good results. I would like touse the same stuff as a sealer on the entire car, so can i use it on the bumpers or not?

Re: How to primer urethane bumpers?

I have never used epoxy on anything that is made from urethane...the reason why is because epoxy primer is used for its superior resistance to moisture, corrosion and rust. Which means it's only supposed to be used on bare metal....kind of similar to an etch primer.

If your going to be priming urethane bumpers....you'll be fine just using a urethane primer. We've done it for years at the shop.
