Door manual to power windows
Hey, whats up to all my 92 camaro people out there. I have a 92 camaro and Ive had it since I was about 12. A drunk driver hit the passenger door. I have a spare door, but its off a 91 camaro but it has manual windows. how hard and can it be done to put the factory power window tracks in

Re: Door manual to power windows
do you have the original door with all the power window stuff in it. just swap all that into new door won't be easy but not super hard either.
Re: Door manual to power windows
hello.......I looked at this thread with particular interest because I have to do the same thing. I own a 92 RS, 3.1L V6, that runs, drives, everything works, but I have no title for it so I can't register it. The good news is that I just found a 87 Iroc Body, that I can pick up for $260.00, and it's only missing one door, and has no motor or tranny. No problem. Since my RS is pretty much just a parts car without the title, I have everything I need right there.what's good is you are already ahead of the game because you have a door with all the necessary hardware inside the door. ( My RS has handle cranks too but I'm assuming that the Iroc will have electric wondows ). The main thing you will have to do is wiring the motor and making sure that you have good connections and a good ground. It may take some time but if you are patient and you pay close attention to what you are doing, ( and you have the perfect guide to follow just by looking at your other door while you work ), you shouldnlt have any real problems. Just pick a nice day to do the job ( if you don't have a garage to work out of ), and you should be just fine. Here is a website that will show you step by step and it is also illustrated with pics as well. I found this online after reading your post, so it's the same guide that I will be using as well. It's pretty good.http://www.p71interceptor.com/thirdgen/powerwindows/ Best wishes brother. You should be just fine. Camaro-454

Re: Door manual to power windows
You pull the glass channel off of the power regulator and do the same for the other door, remove all the other tracks, undo 4 rivets on each regulator, pull the regulators out of the doors, and swap. You may want to replace the motor on the power regulator when you do this. Just watch out for that spring. It's a killer (and I have the scar to prove it).
