there should be a thread somewhere that everyone can use to check prices from craigslist and Ebay item to make sure that its a good deal

but in the mean time

I just pickup a 91 formula hood for $50 is that a good deal?

Im not a expert but a 50 dollar hood sounds like a steal to me, and looks great for the price.

well as you can see it was wet and raining so that helps th look a bit I was just wondering what these hood normally good for in like condition

Considering Hawksthirdgenparts.com wants $500 for a formula cowl hood, I think that you came across a good deal. I know their website is very high on some things, but most people expect to pay at least $100 for any type of hood. I think that formula hoods go for around $125 to $150 depending on how nice they are.

I will say that I was really lucky about five years ago when I picked up a used maui blue GM formula hood for $40. I have just been sitting on it ever since. It was a good thing because my 91 Firebird is wrecked at the moment and the early 4th gen ram air replica I had on it is pretty messed up. I am planning on throwing the formula hood on it and saving a lot of money.
