Re: was this a good deal?
Considering Hawksthirdgenparts.com wants $500 for a formula cowl hood, I think that you came across a good deal. I know their website is very high on some things, but most people expect to pay at least $100 for any type of hood. I think that formula hoods go for around $125 to $150 depending on how nice they are.
I will say that I was really lucky about five years ago when I picked up a used maui blue GM formula hood for $40. I have just been sitting on it ever since. It was a good thing because my 91 Firebird is wrecked at the moment and the early 4th gen ram air replica I had on it is pretty messed up. I am planning on throwing the formula hood on it and saving a lot of money.
