Replacing Window?
Replacing Window?
Hey Guys,
I did a search and I guess its too hard to have been done before.
Anyone replace the window on the drivers side.
I had a hard time getting one out of the junk yard---actually had to break open the door to get the window out.
Reason I ask.... I bout a Camaro July 6th and parked it in my backyard--out of view from anywhere. Someone tried to steal it last sunday, even though it has no plates so obviously it's there for a reason.
Any help...
Thanks Guys.

Get the window to where you can reach inside the door and undo the rivets holding what's left in place. Punch and drill them out, remove the remnants, and put the new glass in using rivets, bolts, or whatever you like. There's only 2-3 rivets to remove, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Hijacked!
Anyone care to elaborate. Any other way than drilling and installing new rivets. I hate to buy another tool.
Any tips?

Re: Replacing Window?
Bolts and nuts have been holding my passenger's window in place since before I bought my car... Same goes for the regulator on that side since I replaced the motor a while ago. Makes replacement and other things (replacing outer sweep) easier as long as the nuts don't get overtightened.

Re: Replacing Window?
Ditto on the nuts and bolts -- I don't think I've used actual rivets to do a window motor since I worked at the Chevy dealer about 10 years ago. Makes it a lot easier to do next time!
