how many vin numbers are on my 85 ta,just wanted to make sure numbers match,and where are the body tags on it?

 

There's just the one VIN under the windshield. The VIN sequence number is on the cowl tag on the radiator support. In 1985, I don't think any of the body panels were tagged. The sequence number is also stamped on the transmission body, and in the block deck surface in front of the passenger side head if it hasn't been oblierated by rust or rebuilding.

 

For cars to be real and traceable, body tags and VIN numbers (vehicle identification numbers) are essential identifiers. Body tags include important information about the car's production specs, while VINs individually identify each vehicle and help with monitoring its history.

 

If you take the fan motor housing off there's a vin number stamped on the firewall

 

Back when cars had frames , the vin was stamped on a couple places on the frame. some were on the frame under the drivers door & on the frame above the rear quarter. Police had the special locations for vin number of many makes of vehicles.
