I have an 89 Formula that I have most of the parts to update it to the 91-92 version.

I have the bumper cap, crash brace, and honey comb. It recently occured to me I don't have the support that bolts to the bumper cap. I am pretty sure the support from my 89 cap will not work, but I see listings that claim it does.

Can someone tell me for sure its a different part... And if so does anyone have one for sale?

 

If you're talking about the panel between the top part of the cover and the radiator support, they're identical through the whole third generation. Everything other than the cover, lights, headlight bezels, and the honeycomb is the same.

 

No, not the piece that the hood latches into, I have found the part is called a "upper bumper retainer"

So now I know what I need, I just need to find it.

I just pulled mine out of the cover a couple hours ago... Is that one in your pic from a 91-92? If it is, I'll take a look at mine from the 85-89 bumper and let you know if they are different.

 

Yes, the one in the pic is from a 91-92 Firebird.

 

I looked at mine this morning and no, it won't interchange. The 2 sides under where the dip is in front of the headlights (where the parking/marker lights shine through) is lower than the section in the middle and there doesn't appear to be a way to do anything about it.
