New Weather Stripping Problems
so ive picked up a replacement set of weatherstripping from Metro Supersoft
the bottom door seal went on nicely for the most part but the chunky part thats pretty much in the jam seems to be so thick that the door cant close ,
not to mention putting in the upper seal with another chunky bit sitting in there , theres no way it could possibly close right
any suggestions?

Re: New Weather Stripping Problems
Make sure the seals are glued in, in the correct spots (door seals glue on each corner right below the screws). Slam the door shut and after a day or so, they will compress and form to the shape.

Re: New Weather Stripping Problems
I put that stuff on my car a year ago. I did just what the person said. Slammed the door after I got it positioned and glued and it stays in place. Its not quite factory...but it is much cheaper and still decent quality.
Re: New Weather Stripping Problems
I cant help you, but I used soffseal weather stripping and it came with 3m weatherstrip adhesive and all the clips plus a couple extra, and let me say, it looks and fits like factory, with no wind noise at well over 120mph!

Re: New Weather Stripping Problems
I bought the same weatherstripping from 1A Auto, will be putting in on in the next couple days. Hopefully it works out.
Fast forward 9/28/2010, drivers door done with the Metro door weatherstip from 1A Auto. I got a little carried away with the adhesive ( using some between the plastic grommets at the bottom of the door as well. ) Door had to be slammed shut. A couple days later it shuts easier as the wheatherstripping is forming and holding shape. Not GM but a good cheaper alternative.
