Hatch pull down delete

Hi
Today I discovered that my hatch motor was not working fine any more and for sure will prefer a normal lock instead of all the heavy lock with all electric and motor!

Can any one in here have one for sale? and also wish to seea pic of it even if you dont have one for sale so I can see how it is!

Thanks

I just shut mine, let the hatch pull shut, and disconnected the wire. Worked like a normal hatch after that. And it doesn't weigh enough for your engine to ever know it's there.

i took all the wiring and gears out, and welded the latch down. however it's as low as it can be and still grab the striker on the hatch, but not all the way down and you can hear the hatch rattle over bumps.

Re: Hatch pull down delete

Today with some help from a friend I removed the pin of the shaft that goes up and down with the latch entered in the trunk and positioned the taolgate where it locks and positioned the latch in the rail with a felt pen and screwed the rail with 8mm x 50 bolt and a locknut and its a solid thing!

Removed the elecctrical socket so now its manual and it closes also without any need of all that electrical staff

fyi, the older non-motorized ones, at least in the 84 Trans Am I was looking at, has the assembly welded to the car. I went to the yard thinking that they unbolted like the motorized ones but they don't.

I lined up mine and just drilled two holes and bolted it in place.
