Rear Hatch Alignment Problem
I've started to try to re-align the rear hatch, it sticks out about 3/8". I was trying to remove the 13mm , three of them just spin (all 3 go through the glass). Any ideas how to get them off?

That's bad. PITA Plasma cutter or ziz wheel to split the nuts. Do I need to say be careful. You might try one of those nut splitters. I've never tried one but sounds like they may work. Then you will need to fix the hatch to reattach it.

same thing happened to one of mine. I took vice grips and locked them on the black caps and was able to get the nuts off (use lots of PB Blast). It did leave indentions in the caps though, so I got a couple new ones from the scrap yard. Hope this helps.

Re: Rear Hatch Alignment Problem
If you haven't already, do a search here and read up on what causes the rear to stick out. Loosening the bolts that go thru the glass, at the hinges, won't help much. I'm assuming those are the ones your talking about, I could be wrong. Sticking out is usually caused by the metal part of the hatch sliding back on the glass. After all thats where all the strut pressure is.

My hatch was the same. just take the hing off the side that sticks out and rebend with vise and big hammer. there is not any adjustment in the bolts at all.

Re: Rear Hatch Alignment Problem
I probably wasn't to clear in my first post. The nuts I'm trying to remove are at the very back (where the spoiler is) I was able to get 5 of the nuts off the three that are stripped are the ones that actually go through the glass. By the replies it looks like its going to be difficult to remove them. I guess cutting with a zip disk might be the best way to remove them (less chance of breaking the glass) Thanks for the advice.

Re: Rear Hatch Alignment Problem
Be very very careful I had to replace my glass after making my adjustments and it was such a pretty alignment job till the original shape disappeared. Very costly lesson.
