rear louver question

do i HAVE to buy a set of louvers that have the third brake light cut out? here in indiana i dont have to have it so if its covered im not worried about it. so if i buy a normal set will the louvers sit ontop of the brake light without any problems? my main concern is the louvers not resting on the back glass right.

Re: rear louver question

If you have a third brake light up top on the hatch then you need a third brake light louver set. Others will not fit.

Yes, if you own an 86 with the third brake light on the hatch you will need to obtain the correct style louvers or they will not fit. Factory louvers are the best, but they are long gone. Classic Industries catalog has aftermarket brands that my fit.

Re: rear louver question

They come up from time to time. I had a set i sold years ago. Put up a wanted ad in the classifieds. Louvers are a love it or hate it thing so there should be a hater trying to sell to a lover lol.

Or if your really set on louvers and cant find 86 only..get a later hatch with third brake light in the spoiler and get normal louvers.
