tire sizes?

Anyone ever run 295/50 16's on IROC or GTA 16x8 wheels? Wondering if there was any rubbing against the shock or fender lips. I run 255/50's on GTA wheels now, but they just don't look big enough to fill the wheel wells. Any ideas?

Re: tire sizes?

A 295/50r16 is too tall to fit on your car. For something that wide you'd have to go with a 45 or 40 series. probably a little too wide for a 8" wheel to.

Try 1010tires on the web. They have a tire calculator that compares tire sizes and what the recommended wheel size is. I don't think an 8 inch wheel is nearly big enough for a 295.

Re: tire sizes?

A would have shown you many people (i'm one) who has or currently does run the BFG 295/50s on their stock 16x8 wheels. And with zero mods to anything to run them.

Here is just 1 thread of many. A 8" wheel is actually within manufacturer's specs for the tire. The minimum spec, but still within spec.

Re: tire sizes?

I can only confirm that you can fit BFG 275/60 15" on the back with no modifications but they will rub a bit on the wheel arch on the bumps.

Here's the pic:

Drop the car an inch or so.
