window loose

Hi my driver window rocks from side to side a lot. It moves out of the black triangle guide that sticks above the door when you close it. I replaced the regulator which solved the back and forth rocking problem from before but didnt help with tue side to side at all. It looks like there is a guide rail at the front of the door that connects to the black triangle. The window is in it but there is nothibg holding it in place when i hold the window up against the rail it doesnt rock at all so im pretty sure it is supposed to keep it in place. There is a white plastic peice attached to the window right next to the rail that is exatly the sane asthe peice.es that hold the window to the rails on tje rest of the door. This one isnt attached to anything. I was wondering if there was a peice missing or what exactly is wrong.

Re: window loose

I think I understand what you're talking about. With the door trim panel off, there is two guides on the top of the door. Loosen the 10 mm bolts and slide the brackets toward the outside of the door. Not too much as it will cause the window to bind and not roll up and easily. You may want also to check other parts while you're in there. There should be blocks on the outer window moulding also to help keep the window from being loose. I've seen them fall off, look in the bottom of the door. May find something else. There is a tech article on the home page that'll help also.

Re: window loose

Here's pictures
The first one is the rail the window is loose in
the second and third show how much the window moves.
Is there a bushing or a roller or something that goes there that's missing?

I've tried messing with all the adjustments and replaced the regulator, I really dont know whats wrong the passenger side is perfect.

Re: window loose

Lower diagram is 83-84, but yours should be similar.
The channel in the guide below the triangle seal should be loose (normal).
1. this adjust the trianlge bk/forth & in/out.
2. Front stop (top)
3&11. adjust angle on tri seal.
6.Rr Stop (top)
7. Glass bk/forth adjust.
8.Glass pivot in/out (top)
9.Pivots window up/down fr to bk (top)
There is also a sticky that may be of help.
