Hehehe. Looks like an attempt at a race car. I don't know how some one is suppose to sit in that I'm 5'6" and my heads 6inches away from the roof, your already sittin on the floor, Imagine a 6 foot fella tryin to drive that.LOL. Besides that be tough as hell to see out of.

yea i am 6'1" and if i sit straight up my head touches but i lay the seat back a little and i am fine. you might have to lay back a little more but i think it would really catch eyes at showes. prob be the only chop top third gen anywhere.

No doubt, definitely catch some attention, alittle impractical for street or track use, but as a show car it would be cool.

That car was ruined when they chopped the top.Plus the rest of that hideous bodywork. It would've turned heads.......for the wrong reasons.
The yellow car looks better & a rare color for thirdgens.I think it was a one year option!

Re: chop top camaro in junkyard
I love all these junk yards and their infinite wisdom/storage systems. EVERY car has the hood ripped off, door and windows open, and everything exposed to the elements so that after the first day in there there is absolutely nothing left of any value on the car. There is more to a car than scrap metal value or why would they not just crush it right away and save time instead of letting it sit in the yard trashed for a year before they finally crush it. They could sell so many more parts if they would just keep the hoods on the car unless someone buys it, then pull the motor and keep it in a covered area. They love charging $300+ for core motors sitting in mud puddles. Imagine what they could do with engines that turn over that aren't plugged up with mud. Not to mention all the interior and electronic parts that could sell...may not be hundreds of dollars per part, but when everything but the body panels is junk on a car you definitely aren't going to waste time or money on anything...if the car is halfway stored/taken care of to keep water/elements off everything sensitive, maybe when you go to buy a fender air extractor or door panel or something, you may actually pick up some interior components or something too...dumb me right.

psh i love the concept of that chop top car, and i think if run over some numbers on the drawing board for more acurate looks it would look amasing. thats IMHO. to each thier own. as for the yellow iroc, thats like a crime against humanity.

Re: chop top camaro in junkyard
i think the chopped up camaro was going to be an import look alike. all the bumpers being molded in, all the lines being rounded over, the head lights being rounded and the style of spoiler all lead me to believe it was going to look Asian. almost like a supra or prelude.

Even though I know in the back of my head you're telling the truth, I refuse to believe that this abomination is anything more than a Mitsubishi eclipse unless I inspect it in person.

I'm 6'5" & 58mark is 6' 7" & we both fit in our 3rd gens just fine. He even has stock seats (i think)!

It almost looks like they were trying to make it into a late model dirt track car. I personally dont like the idea of chopping a 3rd gen, but if done correctly it could make a nice show car.

I'm still not totally convinced its a camaro... I swear.. I'm trying to find the guy... but he has an eclipse that he made look EXACTLY like that... I mean... vins can be switched... how do we know the junk yard doesn't have it wrong... It prolly is a camaro.. but I just can't get over the fact it looks like something I've seen before...

Re: chop top camaro in junkyard
I agree it looks like a terrible dirt track attempt, but since it has headlight buckets/cut outs it was probably not going to be a dirt track car(as they typically have smoothed front ends with stickers like nascar)
so in the end its either a Dirt track look alike, or somebodys idea of an "awesome thirdgen body kit/ import" look, which in the end is just disgraceful

Re: chop top camaro in junkyard
Hey usacamaro - off of the yellow IROC, could you get a price for me on the head light bezels (set of 4) and the light cups w/springs and adjustment screws (metal pieces behind the head lights)?
I need a complete set to modify so I can keep my originals in tact.
Thanks and let me know!
Mike

It's an 82, if you base it off the engine, which looks like an 82 LG4.
That makes me
