Is there any chance you could post any of the pictures you had posted before? I would like to re-look at your progress.

Re: Can this Camaro body kit be fabricated

Anyone wanting to do this sort of thing, it's fairly simple. Make a mold out of whatever: foam, steel, bondo, cardboard, duct tape...

Lay on the cloth and resin..

Lots of sanding/filling..

LOTS of sanding/filling..

I said Lots!..

Homebrew hatch..

Here's what's been taking up all my time lately, it's a triangulated four link w/ 2ft. of travel using mostly junkyard or free parts. Should soak up some shiite pretty good!

I love the bird. Wish you'd pull that 415 outta the elcamino and put it back into the bird... OTOH the el camino is sweet too.

Lets see some more progress on the bird.

Interesting concept. Don't like the front end, but it seems like you did a great job fabricating it. I like the idea of switching the headlights to the newer style. Is that easy, or alot of custom work?

Thanks.

Re: Can this Camaro body kit be fabricated

I can understand the work put into doing a custom nose but honestly I just sold my Fiero GT why would I want to make my camaro look like one. That nose could easily be fabed from a 86-88 Fiero nose and achieve the same appearance.

Found your KIT
http://www.xtremeracingonline.com/chevy82camaroBk.html

THAT REAR BUMPER IS ****ING HIDEOUS (Sorry for the language)

Is your car a crazy bitch, or is she just Happy to see me...

Not to sure on the smiley face front end (sorry for the harsh words), but overall I wish I could give you a design for my 300zx and have it done, I just want the stock bumper but extended maybe .5-1" longer...I love that look of an extended bumper, but the iroc (until something comes up) will stay stock ground effects...or extended

Seriously though thats great work, just seems all the great work and bodykit for these cars have boot front ends (and some boot rears as well) why not something more squared off like the car is, to much roundess for these cars...needs to be sharp and badass.

Re: Can this Camaro body kit be fabricated

you need to use a darker color, that color doesn't an awful job of hiding the fit n finish of the body panels. Which may fit "nice" or as "intended" but the harsh shadow cracks don't work well. Looks like it would bend n flex n blow apart at speed. again I think its just the color not complimenting the lines well.

You know it! I'd planned on painting a dark grey metallic w/ copperhead two tone. The orange is just expensive primer, i didn't even clearcoat some of the roof and the panels are still not quite finished. It's getting closer though, panels are fine at 90mph all day long I'd be worried about anything over 120mph. The hood would probably blow off it, No inner fenderwells, no hood latch (just pins), rear quarter panels need some "lips" glassed on so there's a place to put weather stripping..

Next projects will be to rig up a single windshield wiper off a minivan back hatch and work on sealing the cab better, maybe back half the car, rust is taking it's toll on the rear floorpan/suspension mounts. I'm still running a 10bolt with 295/30/18's so one of these days a rear axle swap.. lol
