Re: remote hood release?

I used original cable and routed it through front bumper rebar. Then mounted original handle under the spoiler, slightly behind it. Takes two hands to open but it's hard to find. I walk right to it now.

thanks white gold 88,how did you mount the cable and stuff so it worked properly? and could you possibly post some pictures of yours please? also do you think i could mount a set up like yours in the grill if i used a Z28 grill with the openings for fog lights but without the lights? or maybe cut out 1 or 2 of the fins in my rs grill and mount it there? tanks agine

Re: remote hood release?

I tried mounting it in the grille so you could pull it straight out but the cable didn't like the angle so that's why it's where it's at. I just zip tied it to the bumper cover where it comes back and mounts to the rebar. Never got around to making a bracket for it, kinda like it as it is. Got to know the "trick".

Re: remote hood release?

thanks white gold, one more thing,d you think it would be possible to run 2 cables? one in the stock mounting spot and one in the front like yours or would the mess each other up?

Re: remote hood release?

I'm sure you could figure something out using two cables. Mine has been like that for over two years now without a problem. Only reason I done mine that way was to clean up the firewall.
