Need to get fender off my camaro!

I need to get my fender off my camaro, one thing that is holding me back is the antenna it is a 91 z-28, and cannot figure out how to get it off, also.... I have electric windows but thinking about getting manual windows i think they would be cheaper and less maintenance in the long run what u think and how hard is this dang fender going to be.... and i am just getting into camaro's and car work, how do you exactly make your hood so its a pin hood?

Put a wrench on the base of the antenna mast and that will come off. To get the base off the fender the top of the base screws off, its got 4 indentations in it and you can use those to get some grip on it. The angled plastic piece thats actually touching the fender comes off next, thats just basically a spacer. If you want to get the actual antenna mount off, remove the plastic wheel liner and you'll see a big bracket bolted to the body.

You do have to take off a lot of other parts to get the fender off. The hood has to come off, hood hinge, ground effects, front chin spoiler, front bumper, and headlight bar.

To make the hood a pin on hood, buy hood pins, bolt them to the upper tie bar, drill holes in the hood where the pins will come through. Beware though, if you get rid of the center hood latch anyone can open your hood at anytime.

Re: Need to get fender off my camaro!

The antenna depends on what kind you have, electric or not, factory or A/M. G-reg is right for factory non power. Fender can be removed without taking hood completely off car if you use a hood prop. Bumper can be loosened and fender slid out if you want. There is one bolt in the fender to rad support that is a PITA. I've got a good set of manual regulators if you want them. I went to power. Good luck with it and keep posting. There is a lot of good info on here.

I got the antenna off but the part that goes through the fender, the plastic piece, i don't see any way to get that off, really need this fender off so i can get the new fender on and paint the car, now the other question in the long run does manual windows and locks give you less hassle in the future cause my motors are so weak.......

The very top of the piece should be made of metal. It takes a spider wrench to remove or a pair of pliers will take it off but damage it, if you have factory, non electric antenna which it sounds like you do.
