gold and silver leaf help

Im getting close to putting my car into the paint shop, and im looking to do something different with the emblems.

I want to do a leaf in the rocker and bumper emblems.

i love the look of the varegated gold leaf. but it wont go with the black, and silver look of the car.

do they make a varegated silver leaf? and where can i get sme?

im hoping some profesional painters/pinstripers jump in here with their exp,
I trust their opinion over a google search..

Never seen variegated silver leaf, certainly would be interesting. If you're only wanting to do something with the emblems, you may want to do it in vinyl (it wouldn't be my first choice) if you can't find the color you're looking for. Vinyl may offer more color options. I'm not a big fan of clearing over vinyl, but it can be done.

should be since most leaf you get is fake, real gold leaf cost $$$

amazon is a good place to search, I found rolls of if there, over a book of sheets.

Re: gold and silver leaf help

i seen the varigated gold / black and fell in love with it. but like i said it wont fit in the black/silver theme.

i thought of vinyl, but i wanted to do something ,,,for lack of a better term MORE.

I love the way altered and gassers had leaf work done in their schemes. and i wanted to a little of that into the emblems. I really like when they do the swirl finish on the leaf. that screams craftsmanship to me.

looking around, i found silver, aluminum, platinum, so i got a few "silvers" to chose from. but i love the varigated look.

Re: gold and silver leaf help

doin some digging, they use a chemical on the gold to get it to look that way. anyone have a clue what chemical, and if it would work on silver, or white gold?
