theyre deffenetly less than 22 i can tell you that for surei bought 22 to patch mine but that was before i seen how thin they acctually are

Last time I asked I was told to use 18 awg I will be trying it soon.
18awg is much too thick sir.
I just completed a major floor repair and used 22awg. If you are patching areas with compound curves, as much of the floor is, 22awg will be perfect and very strong.
If you're doing the section right under the drivers feet that's relatively flat the 22awg will work fine still but you may want to bead roll it if you have the capability or add a few braces length-wise as I did to ensure strength.
