Will a 4th gen nose emblem fit on a 3rd gen Camaro? *bought one and it's sexy...*
I've found some really cool looking Camaro nose emblems online that I'd like to buy for my car, but they're sold as a 4th gen emblem. Can anyone confirm that these will fit where the 3rd gen nose emblem was?
I'm thinking about getting this one but have it say LS2 or LSx

Yes, they are same dimensions.
I'm not sure that the 4th gen emblem had the tabs on the back for the holes - I think they just were sticky backed.
But, you do know that the emblems colors changed over the years, and were kinda period specific right?

Yea I know the colors are different for various models and years, obviously I'm not going for original here

I'm gonna subscribe to this thread because mine is cracked and this would be a great alternative.

Definitly post pics when you've got it on there, and let us know how it goes. Really cool idea. Could be a really neat finishing touch.

Re: Will a 4th gen nose emblem fit on a 3rd gen Camaro?
It came in today, and it looks awesome, but it's going to require a little bit of "custom work" to make it fit properly. It's not that it is bigger, it's just completely flat and I didn't realize how pointed the area under the stock emblem was. I kind of thought it would be more flat under the emblem. So what I think I'm going to do is grind down on the bumper under the emblem and smooth it out. Otherwise my only other option is carefully putting a small bend in the emblem, which I don't want to do because it's so shiny I'm afraid if my crease is just slightly off it's going to throw off the whole look.
Over all it's completely sexy though.
And some random thought I had for the stock one.

It's going to look sweet. And you are right about the more pointy leading edge that could pose a problem. I also really like the center console idea for the old emblem. Or, you could sell your old one to me because it looks like it is in way better shape than mine! ;-)

I bought my nose emblem brand new from GM about 5 years ago when I had my front bumper repainted. It's in awesome condition. I will probably hold onto it though in case I ever change my mind about the one I bought.

Sorry about the "bend" issue - never thought of that!
When you first posted the question, I went outside and measured both emblems before I answered so "confidently" (I have a 1992 and a 1997), but I was only thinking 2 dimensionally.

find an old emlem at the junk yard and seperate the actually emblem from the backing plate. glue your new emblem to the old backing plate and that should allow it to fit snug against the bumper. that is if they are the same size of course. just a thought that might work before you grind into the bumper

Yes it is.. I have 2 of them, one is going on the nose and the other on the rear glass, near the bottom. An O-ring glue around the outer edge makes for a nice snug fit (to cover up the indention of the original). I had to bend it really careful, but very slightly. Looks good..

I know this is an old thread, but hoping for some help.
Thinking of getting one of these 4th gen billet emblems. I took my emblem out and had it filled so there is nothing there now. The nose was painted about two years ago, but after seeing these I think it would look nice.
Would I still need to bend the emblem? Any pics of these installed?
